Body identified as that of missing teen

Petawawa — The body that was recovered from the Petawawa River early Friday afternoon has been identified as that of a young girl who fell into the swift-flowing river on Sunday afternoon, May 5. Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police reported Monday morning a post mortem examination of the deceased confirmed the identity as that of Sarah Donovan, 17, of Petawawa. She was reported missing after entering the river from the old railway bridge in Petawawa. The Petawawa Fire Department assisted police in the recovery effort. The remains were located in the area of West Street in the town by a member of the public.
