DRUGS, CASH SEIZED AFTER RENFREW OPP TRAFFIC STOP

Renfrew — A 64-year-old Tay Valley Township man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop by Renfrew OPP officers on Saturday, November 9 at about 12:30 a.m.  
As a result, police located and seized a large quantity of cash, drugs and drug paraphernalia. Pierre Brochu has been charged with possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000; possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking; possession of a schedule ll substance for the purpose of trafficking; possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling; driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available; driving while under suspension, andClass G1 licence holder unaccompanied by qualified driver.
OPP officers stopped a pick-up truck on Calabogie Road in Greater Madawaska Township.
The accused was held pending a bail court hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.
