Cheryl Gallant made it seven straight victories as the MP for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke in the 43rd Federal Election last night. Mrs. Gallant’s landslide victory had her pick up 30,287 votes, which represents almost 53% of all votes tallied. She will return to the House of Commons as part of the Official Opposition in the Minority Parliament. She garnered more than 19,000 votes ahead of Liberal candidate Ruben Marini who picked up 11,236 votes and Eileen Jones-Whyte of the NDP finished third with 8,587 votes.
