Human Error Not To Blame For Spring Floods

John Yakabuski, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry, released the much anticipated Independent Review of the 2019 Flood Events in Ontario and among the final conclusions was the flooding that ravaged much of the Ottawa Valley for residents and businesses along the Ottawa River and other watersheds was a result of heavy snow pack, exceptionally high precipitation in April and May and rapid melting led to the Spring floods. The report concludes that nothing points to human error or the negligent operation of water control structures as the cause of the flooding.
