Ontario gets a break with cheaper hydro during COVID-19 crisis

If you are one of thousands of Ottawa Valley residents self-isolating in your homes and worried about using too much hydro, you are about to get a break. The province announced a temporary 45-day emergency relief to support Ontarians impacted by the global COVID-19 outbreak. Effective immediately all residential and small business customers who currently pay time-of-use (TOU) electricity rates will be charged lower off-peak rates of 10.1 cents/kWh, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
