Tom Peckett, Mayor of McNab-Braeside Township, and Laurentian Valley Township Reeve Debbie Robinson have both been nominated for the 2020 warden’s position in Renfrew County.
A ballot vote by county councillors will take place on December 10 during the inaugural session of council to decide who will replace Jennifer Murphy, Mayor of Bonnechere Valley Township, for warden in 2020
A formal nomination process takes place annually for the office and any member of county council is eligible after being nominated by two fellow council members. The successful councillor then fills the office for a term of one year. The warden fulfils the role as head of council
