Soldiers from the Canadian Forces and personnel from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry were released from service Monday morning after the City of Pembroke’s Emergency Control Group met Monday morning.

The City expressed thanks to community volunteers, MNRF personnel and the  Canadian Forces personnel for their assistance up to this point.

City officials are continuing to monitor water levels and will notify the public if further volunteer assistance is required in the future.

The Marina and Riverside Park remain closed to the public for safety reasons residents are urged to stay away from these areas.

Residents affected by the flooding should be aware of an upcoming Red Cross Assistance Centre on Wednesday, May 15 from 11 am to 8 pm at the Shady Nook Recreation Centre. At the Centre, information will be available to residents affected by flooding on support services available to them.
