One person sustained head injuries while the driver of a second vehicle sustained minor injuries in a collision at the intersection at Kelly’s Corner (Highway 60 and Cobden Road) near Opeongo High School. The accident occured Tuesday afternoon around 2:30. Ontario Provincial Police officers from Killaloe, County of Renfrew paramedics and firefighters from both the Douglas and North Algona Wilbeforce (Rankin Station) fire departments attended the scene. An Ornge Air Ambulance was nearby at the time of the collision, which involved two small cars, and quickly landed at the scene. The more seriously injured of the two motorists was stabilized by paramedics and transported to hospital. No more information was available at press time.
