Two people from the Toronto area who are vacationing on Golden Lake were pulled from the cool waters of Golden Lake late Wednesday morning after their canoe capsized. Fortunately, the man and woman were wearing life jackets.
A staff member from The Sands on Golden Lake paddled out to the couple who had called 911 and remained with them until Provincial Police officers from Killaloe and paramedics from the Renfrew County Paramedic Service responded.
Const. Mike Recoskie called on lake resident Bill Cooke and with Mr. Cooke’s pontoon boat the rescued the couple from the water. They were brought them to shore where they were checked out by paramedics.
