Wolves open season with 7-3 loss to Westport

The Valley Timberwolves hosted their inaugural Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League game in Eganville Sunday evening versus the Westport Rideaus. To mark the occasion, an offi cial puck-drop was held. Eganville – A little bit of history was made in Eganville Sunday night when the first-ever Jr. B league hockey game of importance was played before a crowd of just over 100 people.

And while the game didn’t favour the Valley Timberwolves, which adopted Eganville as their home community last year, coach Gordie Goldberg and his team will be focusing on a couple of key things at practices this week as the team prepares for a busy three-game weekend.
