Emotions surge at public meeting over relocation of The Grind to old fire hall

It was a packed hall at the 50+ Active Living Centre (Seniors Centre) in Pembroke last Wednesday night as the community gathered to discuss the possible relocation of The Grind to the old fire hall. Mieke Mahood, the president of the group, asked council to guarantee there would be a safe environment if The Grind moved with no panhandling, smoking, bad language or violence towards seniors.
