Pat Hammel founded the Ghost Town Cryers several years ago and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for several non-profit organizations throughout the Ottawa Valley. St. Patrick’s Day was Mr. Hammel’s favourite day of the year and the band headlined the annual unofficial holiday at Finnigan’s Road House in Renfrew. Mr. Hammel, seated in front always had a fun time along with band members Ryan Paulsen, Amanda Lynn Dupuis, Andrew Swan and Kyle McKey.

Pembroke – A local musician who passed away last week after a courageous battle with brain cancer is being remembered not only for his constant smile and love of all things Irish, but also as a teacher, mentor, performer, amateur therapist and a man whose passion for music and the Ottawa Valley will live on long after his ashes are scattered near his beloved cottage deep in Algonquin Park.
