Passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, in the presence of her family on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the age of 87 years.

Alma Pape (nee Thomson) of Pembroke, wife of the late Elmar Pape.  Beloved mother of Ginger, Michael, Jane, Lyssa, Tara (Edward) & Jason (Heidi).  Cherished grandmother of Johnathon (Vicky), Andrew, Jordan (Micheline) Philip (Lynn), Scarlett (Derek), Tatyana, Eythan, Hudson, Harrison & David; and great-grandmother of Ella, Isabella, Sadie Grace, Olivia, Rockland, Denver, Luke & Madonna.  Dear sister of Earl Thomson (Rosilee).  Daughter of the late William & Laurel Thomson (nee Ferguson); and predeceased by brothers Mansel (Phyllis) & Clark (late Viola) Thomson.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Alma was an inspiration to her family.  She was hard working, a wonderful cook and an avid gardener.  Alma would spend hours in the garden and say “God made rainy days to clean the house”.  Always an elegant woman, she gave all of herself for her husband and children, we will always be thankful.  Alma will be dearly missed.

The Celebration of Life, a service dedicated to the memory of a life lived with joy, will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Pembroke Pentecostal Tabernacle, 34 Jordan Ave. at 12:30 p.m., followed by a reception.  If you knew Alma, please come and share your memories in this Celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Renfrew County Child Poverty Action Network (CPAN).  Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.  Online condolences and donations are available at www.mdbfuneralhome.com.

“Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are charming gardeners who make our souls blossom” Marcel Proust.
