August 17, 1943 – May 20, 2021
Suddenly on May 20th, 2021 while riding his motorcycle – he was doing something that he loved dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Loretto (McGarry), his son, Brett (Cathryn), his daughter, Eden (Michael Buckley), his grandchildren, Cameron, Ian, Aimee, and Owen Legree, his sister, Joan (Bob McCarthy), brothers, Patrick Legris and Lynden Legris (Anna), many cousins, nieces and nephews, family and friends near and far.
Bert had a sparkling smile and loved to talk with everyone he met, as much as he loved adventure, riding his Spyder motorcycle or driving his Corvette through the American Southwest.
He could build or repair anything, and was a generous, caring man, willing to lend a hand at any time, and did more with one hand than most can do with two.
He did so much during his dash. (The Dash, a poem by Linda Ellis.)
Beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend, he will be keenly missed by all.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital, 499 Raglan St. North, Renfrew, ON K7V 1P6 or the Ottawa Civic Hospital, 1053 Carling Ave, Ottawa, ON K1Y 4E9.
Details of a celebration in his memory will follow at a later date.
Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.
