Catriona (Katie Mary) Davis (nee MacArthur) passed peacefully at Bonnechere Manor on Wednesday May 8th with her family at her side in her 85th year.

Loving wife of Sheldon Davis and loving mother of Sheldon (Mira), Kristian (Susan), Mark (Barbara) and Jason (Christina). Grandmother to Sarah, Joseph, Naomi, Emerson, Garett, Calum, Maciver, Kasia, Liam and Cadence. Catriona was predeceased by her father and mother, Angus and Mary (nee Macleod) MacArthur, her brothers Calum, Young Murdo, Murdo and Donald John and her sisters Katag and Chrisie. Catriona is survived by her sisters-in-law Catriona (Donald John), Chrissy (Calum), Margaret (Murdo) and Dawnalda Sutherland (nee Davis) and her much loved nephews and nieces. Catriona was a very loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law and aunt.

Born in the tiny hamlet of Dalbeg in the Outer Hebrides on the Isle of Lewis Scotland, Catriona spent her youth on the wind-swept moors on the western coast of Lewis. As a young adult, Catriona went to nursing college in Glasgow, Scotland. Soon she would emigrate to Canada to nurse in Kingston and Ottawa where she caught the eye of a young man from Eganville who would become her husband and soon after they had a young family of four boys. Catriona loved her sons and was undeniably the “world’s best mom”. Later, as her sons married she was so proud of her daughters-in-law and her expanding brood of grandchildren. She deeply loved all her grandchildren. Catriona will be remembered for her love of gardening and love of people. She had a quiet faith and a love for life. She will be missed by many.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 13, 2019 at 1pm at Melville United Church, Eganville. Interment Cobden Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Catriona would be appreciated to The Bonnechere Manor Foundation or the Canadian Bible Society.
