It is with deeply saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Christopher Edward Dregas, of Renfrew, On at the age of 52 years. Chris was the eldest son of Stephen and the late Andree Dregas. He also leaves behind his brother, David and step-mother, Theresa. He was predeceased by his sister, Anne. Christopher will be fondly remembered by many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Christopher loved his God and attended church services regularly. He loved to travel with his family and went on cruises to Alaska and along the eastern seaboard to the eastern provinces. He also had a magical trip to Disney World. His wonderful, quirky sense of humour was always evident and he would take great joy in singing “Let it Snow” or comment “freezing rain” on a very hot summer day, throwing his head back in great glee, his mischievous eyes sparkling with laughter. He loved to watch “The Price is Right”. He loved his books and Disney movies, especially the character “Bambi”.

A bright light has gone out at Groves Park Lodge. We wish to extend a special thanks to staff at Groves Park Lodge where he received superior care. The staff was extremely sensitive to both his physical and emotional needs. This will always be remembered. We also wish to extend thanks to Father Kerry Brennan for his ongoing support and spiritual needs and we also thank the staff of Community Living Renfrew County South for their many years of dedicated care and service to him.

Visitation will be held at the Goulet Funeral Home, 310 Argyle St., S. Renfrew on Thursday, April 24th from 2-4, 6-8 pm and after 9:00 am Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, Renfrew on Friday, April 25th at 10:30 am. Interment St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Renfrew. If you wish, donations can be made to Groves Park Lodge Auxiliary or to the charity of your choice.
