Passed away peacefully at Madawaska Valley Hospice in Barry’s Bay, on Saturday, December 12, 2020 with family by her side.

Doreen Dunne-Scully of Pembroke, dearly loved mother of the late Susan Berger (George), Golden Lake; Sandra Mask (Vernie), Round Lake; Anne Lawrence (Steve), Port Credit; Bill Sunderland, Pembroke; Beth Dobson (late Jim), Cobden and late Bob Sunderland. Cherished grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late Alvin and Violet Dunne (nee Pigeon). Caring sister of Yvonne Stalkie, June Simmons and late Neil Dunne. Survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to especially thank the staff and volunteers of Madawaska Valley Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion given to their mother during her time at hospice. You have all really touched our hearts. In honour of this, a donation in Doreen’s memory to the Madawaska Valley Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
Best known as Deenie and Mrs. Sunderland to her family and Renfrew County’s community, Doreen’s love, commitment and involvement in music inspired so many over her personal and professional lifetime.

The paintings she created of Ottawa Valley landscapes, will be in Doreen’s legacy for many, many years.

A private family visitation and funeral service will take place at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. Interment in St. Patrick’s Anglican Cemetery.
