Edwin Pilgrim

April 20, 1928 – February 16, 2024

Join us in remembrance of Edwin, the ultimate road crafter, moose hunter and solid rock. He was known to a great many people as the founder of Pilgrim Construction in the 1950s and was well respected by his business contacts and community. His skills as a bulldozer mechanic were unsurpassed, ensuring reliable service for his many contracts.

Edwin married Ruth Fleguel (deceased 2021) in July 1953, and raised five children: Terry (Linda), Don (Pat), Patricia, Peter, and Sandra (Kája), all of whom survive him. His grandchildren, Ashley, Bryce, Brennan, Todd, Curtis, Vanessa, Jill, Jason and Jordan are sharing memories with their own partners and children as well.

Edwin is predeceased by his siblings Alice (Jim Curtis), Vaughn and John Pilgrim. Freda (Murriell Mantifel) and Betty (John’s wife) join Marlene Miller in remembrance.

Edwin had a great sense of humour and good physical health, both of which helped him through changes in recent years as his memory declined. Our family is grateful for all the support from community and the caring staff at Valley Manor where he spent his final five months.

Please join the family for a memorial service for Edwin being held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 1:30 pm at the Emmanuel United Church in Schutt, followed by interment in Emmanuel United Cemetery following the service.

Should you wish to support a cause that he would appreciate, please consider St Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation or Friends of Algonquin Park. Condolences, tributes and donations can be made online at www.zohrfuneralhome.com
