Passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 25, 2024 in his 84th year.

Gordon O’Brien of Lapasse, beloved Dad to Susan O’Brien and Kathryn O’Brien (Rodney). Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his sweetheart, Ruth McBride. Son of the late Ruth and Arnold O’Brien. Cherished Grampa to Cassidy and Logan Judd. Sadly missed by his brother, Delbert O’Brien (Glenda), and nephews, Jason (Lioutsia “Lucy”), D’arcy (Geneviève) and Brendan O’Brien. Predeceased by wife, Denise O’Brien (nee Gervais) and sisters, Greta MacBrien (Bill) and Brenda Spadzinski (Peter).

Gordon was an active farmer in the Westmeath area most of his life. In partnership with his brother, Delbert, they developed a dairy operation described at the official opening in 1970 by the Agriculture Minister of Ontario as the most advanced of its kind in Eastern Ontario. In later years Gordon operated a large cash crop/beef operation. Gordon enjoyed his retirement living in his beautiful home which he built overlooking the Ottawa River.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Neville Funeral Home, 491 Isabella St., Pembroke on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 12 noon.

A Funeral Service will be held at Elim Pentecostal Church, Westmeath on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. Friends and family are invited to gather from 2:30 – 5 at the Westmeath Community Centre. Spring Interment in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Lapasse.
