December 13, 1938 – August 26, 2024

After a life well-lived, but with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our rock, James Richard Gordon Wallace, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Gord married his childhood sweetheart, Joan Ann (Barr) and together they raised four wonderful children, Timothy, Barbara (Elliott) Rose who passed away August 7, 2024, Mark (Wanda) and Maureen (Paul) Moran. His legacy of love includes five grandchildren, Megan (Mark) Kennedy, Sean (Ashley) Rose, Yvonne Greer-Wallace, Alexander (Rachel) Moran and Jacob Moran. He was blessed to welcome a generation of great-grandchildren, Heidi, Seth, Mia, Mavrick, Isla, Max and Blair.

Gord was the son of James and Vada, and the brother to Marjorie and Evelyn (predeceased). He also leaves many nieces and nephews to miss him. His many accomplishments include developing Cedar Point Campground and Estates, as well as Calabogie Lodge Resort.

We are grateful for the many travel adventures he enjoyed with his co-pilot Joan, and the snowmobiling, golf and fishing by trips with his family and friends.

We wish to extend our gratitude to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital, the Sunshine Coach and Groves Park Lodge for the care and comfort they extended to Gord over the past eight months. If so desired, support for the Sunshine Coach (Friends of the disabled) would be received with thanks in lieu of flowers.

Gord’s final arrangements are entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew. A private family gathering will memorialize Gord and his daughter Barb at his Calabogie home.
