James “Roy” Ellis passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, November 14th, 2022 at the age of 89.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jean (Young). Father to Wendy Bennett (Bob), Debbie McIntyre (Robert), Brenda Spehar (Vlad), David Ellis (Kim) and Brad Ellis. Poppa to Brittany, Sherri, Joey, Daniel, Frazer, Alyssa, Jeffrey, Ryan, Katie, Trysh, Samantha, Oriah and Logan. Great-Poppa to six. Survived by his brother, Richard Ellis (Marion) and his brother-in-law, Roy Young. Predeceased by his infant son, Bradley Roy, his parents, Frank and Grace Ellis as well as his sister, Patricia Kuruliak.
Roy was a quiet gentleman who delighted us all with his wit and little ditties. He was an outdoorsman who loved science, music and most of all his family. We know he’s whistling in Heaven with the angels.
Roy lived under the excellent care of staff at Bonnechere Manor since July 2019. Special thanks to Dr. DiPaulo for his compassionate and dedicated care and to the staff of Quail Creek for their unwavering support of Jean.
In accordance with Roy’s wishes there will be no service or visitation. Cremation services have been entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew. For those who wish, donations can be made to the Dementia Society of Renfrew.
