Peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Saturday, August 31st, 2024 in her 54th year.
Jody Kitson-Roy of Cobden, beloved wife of Emery William Roy. Loving mother of Mitchell, Travis and Jasmine. Caring daughter of Janet Tobio (nee Felker) and the late Robert Kitson. Dear daughter-in-law of Emery Joseph and Anita Roy (nee Lamarche). Dear sister of Steven Kitson.

Jody and Emery shared a remarkable bond, one defined by mutual respect, deep affection, and unwavering support. Their marriage was a testament to a love that only grew stronger with time. Jody often spoke of Emery as her rock and together, they created a life rich with shared memories, laughter, and enduring partnership.

Jody was a devoted mother whose love for her children was the cornerstone of her life. She poured her heart into nurturing and guiding them, always striving to be a source of strength and comfort. Mitchell, Travis and Jasmine were her greatest joy and pride, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Jody was a constant presence in their lives, offering wisdom, encouragement, and always, unconditional love.

Miss Jody, as she is known by students near and far, embodied the philosophy, “Find a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life again.” As a beloved educator she spent 30 years inspiring students and colleagues with her enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication. The commitment to her students went beyond the classroom; she was a mentor, a guide, and a source of encouragement to many. Her classrooms and schools were warm and welcoming places of love and learning.

Students, staff and parents were always greeted with a bright smile, a warm hello and often even a hug. Miss Jody’s hugs were the best. Where positivity packs a powerful punch, Miss Jody punched hard, always seeking to find the good in everything. Miss Jody called many schools home in the Renfrew County District; Highview, Rockwood, Beachburg and Palmer Rapids and Cobden. She leaves behind a community of students and colleagues who will forever cherish her impact on their lives. As both a teacher and a principal, Miss Jody, will forever be remembered by her vibrant spirit and generous heart.

Respecting Jody’s wishes, cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the RCDSB Student Support Fund would be appreciated.
