In the early hours of Friday, May 2, 2025, at the age of 90, June Elizabeth Pauhl (née Rieck) went home to heaven to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Raymond, who predeceased her in 2011. June is survived by her three children, David, Catherine (Brian), and John (Christine). She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Christine, Benjamin, Daniel and Julien, and her two great-grandchildren, Owen and Freya. She was predeceased by her grand-daughter, Heather, in1989. Her family loves her and will miss her deeply.
June worked as a nursing assistant at K-W Hospital (Grand River Hospital, now WRHN@Midtown) during the 1950s until her first child was born. After that June dedicated her time to raising her family. She enjoyed reading, sewing and baking. June was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church until it closed in the early 1990s. Then she and her husband, Raymond, became members of Stanley Park Baptist Church.
A private family funeral will be held. Special heartfelt thanks to all the staff at PeopleCare A.R. Goudie LTC Home, Kitchener where June has resided since 2016. Deepest heartfelt thanks to the staff on the second-floor unit as they cared for June during her time there, especially at the end. Their kindness, gentleness and compassion will be treasured. They made a real difference in June’s life.
