Mary passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the age of 79. Lovingly missed by her children Steven (Amanda Hawkins) and Susan (Brady Laska). Cherished grandmother of Jackson, Lylah, Erik, Maggie, and Lucy. Dear sister of John Stuart (Helen-Ann), Margaret McLeod, and Ethel Stuart. Predeceased by her husband, Eric Olsen, and infant grandson, Oliver. Mary will be dearly missed by many family and friends, both near and far.
Mary had many adventures, travelling and teaching in New Zealand and Australia, then in Kapuskasing, Barry’s Bay, and Pembroke. Mary returned to the Mink Lake area, where she grew up, building a house with Eric down the road from her family farmstead. She focused on farming, raising her two children, and always learning new hobbies including food foraging and preservation, extensive gardens, wood turning, and painting. Mary had a love for nature and the arts.
Mary will be remembered for her many forest walks, knowledge of the natural world around her, and her many artistic abilities.

Mary’s final care has been entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville where a visitation was held on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 2 pm until 4 pm.
