“She sang with joy, loved without limit, and gave with grace.”
Maureen Ann Cashubec-Clouthier passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025 at the Ottawa Heart Institute at the age of 64 with her devoted husband of 20 years, Kelly, by her side.
Born on May 8, 1961, in Killaloe, Ontario, Maureen was the daughter of the late Agnes Sabina (Mask) and Joseph Stanley Cashubec. She was predeceased by her sister, Marlene (Raymond). Maureen is survived by her siblings, Judy (late Harry), Garry (late Linda), Ernie (Patricia), Kevin (Linda), Lorraine (Mickey) and Eugene (Cathy). She also leaves behind her stepsons, Curtis (Lyndsay) and Nick (Stephanie), grandsons, Kolby and Ben and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Maureen worked at Madawaska Door and Trim, Dashwood Industries, and Paul Burke Jewellers. In 1991, she founded her own clothing/jewellery and repair business “The Little Gem”, operating from her home. She also dedicated 28 years to Canada Post, serving in both part-time and full-time roles, retiring in May 2025.
Maureen loved music and especially singing. She enjoyed gardening, travelling and spending time with her family, particularly her nieces and nephews. She loved a good laugh and never missed a chance to enjoy life. Maureen’s love for God was evident not just in her heartfelt prayers, but in the way she gave of herself so freely. Always ready to lend a hand and rarely saying no to anyone in need. She served others with quiet strength, humility and deep faith.
Maureen will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to Heubner Funeral Home in Barry’s Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Killaloe on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen’s memory may be made to St. Andrew’s Catholic Church or the Ottawa Heart Institute.
