It is with great sadness but also rejoicing we announce the peaceful passing of Norma Audrey Schroeder the loving wife and soulmate of Russel Schroeder. Norma passed away at her home in Pembroke surrounded by her loving husband and family into the Kingdom of Heaven. Norma had a very strong faith in God as well as being a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Russel for 69 years. She is predeceased by her parents, Stella (Nee Woods) and James Rodgers, brother, George of Nanimo B.C., sister, Marylin of Toronto, brother, David of Kitchener, and brother, Brian of Ottawa. She is survived by her sister, Teresa Granzie of Port Perry and brother, Roy Rodgers (Barbara) of Port Perry. Dear sister-in-law to Mona Zadow, Judy Schroeder, Gladys Priebe and Beatrice Schroeder.
Norma was a devoted and loving mother to Cindy Ueltzhoffer (Michael) of Deep River, predeceased by her son, Frank Schroeder (Chris) of Petawawa, Murray Schroeder (Bonnie) of Kemptville, Carrie Leach (Steve) of Pembroke. Loving grand-mother of Adam Ueltzhoffer (Kait) of Hamilton, Amanda Brela (Marek) of Laurentian Hills, Ashley Larocque (Julian) of Deep River, Melissa Schroeder of Ottawa, Derek Schroeder (Jessica) of Ottawa, Kelsey (Matt) Regnier, Joel Schroeder (Charlotte) of Cobden, Julianne Oakes (Tom)of Prescott, Mathew Schroeder (Kelly) of Cobden, Mitchell Schroeder (Lizzie) of Petawawa, Josh Leach of Pembroke, Taylor Leach (Jason) of Pembroke, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Special thank you to Dr. P. Ceponis and assistant, Tina, Bayshore Nurse staff including Pam Dennison, and the wonderful staff at Heritage Manor for taking such wonderful care of Norma. Thank you to Pastor Bruce Thompson of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church Pembroke for all her spiritual needs.
Friends are Invited to share their memories of Norma with her family during visitation at the Murphy Funeral Home, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Wednesday, April 23rd 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 24th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 503 Alfred Street, Pembroke. Interment St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. In memory of Norma, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute or St. Timothy’s Church would be appreciated.
