July 1, 1958 – May 4, 2025
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Shirley Anne Keller in her 66th year on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Ottawa General Hospital, with family by her side. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Kevin Keller of 46 years. Shirley was a proud mother to Candace and Crystal (Bryan) and one especially proud Granny to Devon, Ava and Everly. Daughter of Genevieve Visutski and the late Clarence Visutski, oldest sister to Pat (Kim), Frank (Tara), Joan (Terry), Wayne (Yvonne), Dean (Cindy), Lori (Shawn) and an aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Shirley lived a full life and enjoyed spending time with her family, including her beloved grandchildren and her puppy, Annie. She had a creative side and enjoyed diamond painting, crafting various projects over the years and loved a good game of Yahtzee or Scrabble. She was always up for anything fun, whether the Casino, gathering at the hunting camps, and loved going out for a meal. Shirley spent many summers with Kevin enjoying coffee each morning on the dock at Lake Dore. She loved dancing and had a great love for Kevin’s guitar playing and him singing her favourite songs. Some of her cherished memories were her vacations to Florida, Mexico and the Dominican.
Following Shirley’s courageous battle with cancer the family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the entire 6th floor staff at the Ottawa General Hospital, Dr. Nicholas and to her family and friends who provided so much love, support and compassion throughout her journey. This truly meant the world to her!
Shirley will be dearly missed by her entire family, beloved grandchildren, and friends. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her thoughtfulness and love for others.
A funeral mass was held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. James the Less Catholic Church. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Rankin Community Centre from 2 until 5 pm. In memory of Shirley, donations may be made to the Ottawa General Hospital Foundation.
