Passed away quickly and peacefully at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry’s Bay on Thursday, November 16, 2023 in his 84th year.
Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Pecarskie. Loving father of JoAnne. Stanley is survived by his dear sisters, Jean (late Kenneth Eno), Julia (late Joseph Mask), and Rose (late Edward Rabishaw). Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Frances Pecoskie, his brothers, Tony, Angus, Philip, Frank and Max, as well as his sisters, Tessie, Stella, and Mary.
Stanley was a well known municipal politician and strong advocate in matters close to his heart. He put not hours but years of dedication sitting on committees and fighting for the rights of Private Land Owners. He sat at local fairs and jamborees selling tickets for the cause he believed in. Many hours were spent canvassing the Valley to support a local fishing derby and then the KHR Logger’s Event. He worked as a municipal councillor for 22 years. From the Timmins mines to the Valley forests and in retirement to local politics Stanley is and was well known as a generous, hardworking and devoted citizen! From well digger to grave digger, there wasn’t much he didn’t do! But there was always time for a good Northern Partridge hunt and fishing! He will be truly missed by extended family, nieces and nephews, friends and colleagues but especially by his daughter JoAnne and dear sisters.
A heart full thank you is extended to the home-care workers and to the staff and physicians at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. The Heavenly Square dance will welcome a new caller … Corners all and Rest In Peace!
Stanley’s final care has been entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Killaloe where visitation will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 4:00 until 8:00pm. A brief visitation will be held Monday morning from 9:30 until 11:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church, Round Lake Centre at 11:30am.
