With sadness, the family announces that Tim passed away peacefully at home on Thursday afternoon, July 11, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. He was 67.
Beloved father of Serp Rivleau and Hawk Rivers-Garrett, longterm companion of Susan Hart. Dear brother of Helen Moore, the late Nicholas Rivers-Moore (Valerie Rivers-Moore), Bridget Rivers-Moore, Simon Rivers-Moore (Silvana Rotili) and Michele Freeling, as well as many nieces and nephews, and friends too numerable to mention.
Tim died as he lived, choosing his own path and true to what he valued most in life. In his own words, “celebrate what little can be known, make peace, make progress.”
Tim showed a deep commitment to his community. He was a founding member of the radio station CHCR – he wrote the initial documents. He helped organize many events with his attention to sound and electrics. He also wrote the incorporation documents for the Killaloe Heritage and Ecology Society. He served on the board of the Killaloe Community Resource Centre for what he described as “long enough.”
In addition to creative writing and planning abilities, Tim was also known in his community for his prolific technical abilities. He was the one to call to solve nearly any problem relating to electrical, plumbing and HVAC and off-grid living 24/7. He was licensed in multiple trades.
In the words of one of his clients, a local grocer, “I don’t know what I will do without you. There is no one who can replace you. Thank you for taking care of us.”
Many family and friends will also remember him for his adventurous spirit, and the new and interesting ideas he brought into their lives.
Special thanks to his home care nurse Crystal and doctors – Dr. Ladd, Dr. Katie Forfar and Dr. Malinowski who were there when he needed them most.
Consider making a donation to the CHCR radio station, the Killaloe Community Resource Centre or the Pembroke Regional Hospital in his memory.
