Velma Frances Ethel Cliche passed away peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 14, 2025 on her 91st birthday.

Velma Cliche (nee Lamkie) of Pembroke, beloved wife of 62 years to the late Harold Cliche. Loving mother of Linda Cliche (the late Mike Hambleton), Petawawa; Randy Cliche (Marion), Pembroke; Nancy Demers (Dan Sloan), Pembroke; Steven Cliche (Shelley), Barrie; and Heather Gauthier (Jason), Petawawa. Loving grandmother “Nanny” of Chris Cliche (Tina), Kaitlyn Hambleton, Nicole Fortin (Jeff), Taylor Demers, Joshua Demers, Jacob Cliche, Meagan Cliche, Zacharay Cliche, Andrew Cliche, Alyssa Cliche, and Cole Gauthier. Great-grandmother of Chloe, Kyler, Logan, Madison, Jordan, Jaxon, and Avory. Predeceased by parents, George and Ethel Lamkie (nee Severin). Dear sister of Idena Edwards (late Archie). Predeceased by sisters, Eva Landry (late Carl), Evelyn Koss (late Lorne), Fern Goldberg (late Richard), Betty Prince (late Arthur), Darlene Raymond (late Joseph), Gwen Smith (late Walter), Jean Green (late Desmond) and by brothers, Lyle Lamkie (late Mary), John Lamkie, and Earnest Lamkie (late Madeline). Also sadly missed by all her many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Wesley United Church, 275 Pembroke St. E., Pembroke, on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Grace United Church Cemetery, Perreton.
